IRS announced automatic three month extension for the victims of Boston Marathon terrorist attack to file 2012 tax return. So, now the due date for filing and payment of 2012 taxes is not April but July 15. Please not that all residents of Suffolk county are automatically under this relief no matter if they have been actually impacted by the tragedy. Victims from the other areas should contact IRS by phone to avoid the penalties and interest for late filing.
